John Shannon is an American folk-rock singer-songwriter.  Shannon grew up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. His adolescence was spent in Pittsburgh's underground music scene, where indie-rock house shows and jazz gigs influenced his love for music. He is a graduate of the Berklee College of Music in Boston. His transcendental rock trio, Leaders of the Shift, have recorded and toured the world with a variety of music icons. Together they craft earth-shattering anthemic rock with vibrant depth and a forceful punch. Leaders of the Shift continue to bring their vivacious rock n roll spirit to life onstage for over 200 shows a year and counting. Shannon’s most recent collaboration with partner Josh Ross is Con Alma, a restaurant and jazz bar. Inspired by the rich heritage of jazz in Pittsburgh, Con Alma, which means “with soul,” seeks to return jazz to its rightful place at the forefront of the local music scene while providing patrons with some of the best food and drinks the city has to offer.
